Hey y’all!

My name is Gabie deBruler, and I graduated with a Master of Mass Communication with a concentration in strategic communication at the LSU Manship School of Mass Communication in May 2023. Two years prior, I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in public relations with minors in business administration and political science from LSU. I am from Luling, Louisiana, a small city outside of New Orleans.

You may have noticed that I spell my name a little differently. It’s pronounced Gah-bee, a little weird, I know. I like to say my name is like the typical Gabby, but French.

I am passionate about creating a brand and connecting with people, which is why I love public relations. I love bringing my creativity to a company and would love to make a difference in the world one day. My primary goal in life is to help people and enact positive change.

I love watching the LSU Tigers play on a Saturday night in Death Valley and playing with my Goldendoodle who is named after my favorite Mardi Gras parade, Tucks. One of my favorite college memories was watching the LSU Tigers take home the national championship in my hometown of New Orleans in 2020!

In May 2023, I finished my master’s thesis titled “Examining Framing of Local and National Media Coverage of Sandy Hook and Robb Elementary School Shootings.” Unfortunately, my research is more important than ever. As tough as this topic is to grasp, I hope to continue this research as I move forward in my career.

Enjoying my first SXSW Experience!
