Marketing and Sales

In addition to my degree from the Manship School of Mass Communication, I earned a minor in business administration. In my business classes, I learned many skills, including finding a love of marketing and sales. Through my small business and my time with Kendra Scott and the Panhellenic Executive Council, I learned real-world experiences in business. Below, you will find some of my proudest accomplishments from working in marketing and sales.

Small Business Owner

Geaux Geaux Buttons

In the Fall of 2021, I turned my love of LSU to creating a small business. By combining my creativity and school spirit, I created over a hundred LSU-specific designs for 2.25-inch handmade buttons. I used Procreate, Adobe Indesign, and Illustrator for all designs.

Below are some of my best-selling LSU designs.

I held several pop-ups at sorority houses and boutiques in Baton Rouge to increase revenue. After the LSU football season, I expanded to Mardi Gras, NFL, and custom designs. In my first full year of selling buttons on Etsy and at in-person events, I earned a gross profit of $8,000, accumulated over 750 followers on Instagram, and made over 400 sales on Etsy.

Creating my own small business took many trials and tribulations. I learned first-hand the importance of pricing, customer relations, product reliability, and much more.

I used Instagram as my primary form of promotion. Check out the Geaux Geaux Buttons Instagram Feed below.

2020 Director of Recruitment Marketing

LSU Panhellenic Executive Council

After years of being involved in my sorority, I took a gigantic leap and applied for the 2020 Panhellenic Executive Council, which encompasses 14 of LSU’s sororities. Little did I know, it would be one of the most challenging positions I would have. In the middle of my position as the director of recruitment marketing, the COVID-19 pandemic swept America. I had to change the direction of my position. In-person interaction is a key basis for sorority recruitment, so I was a part of a five-person student-led team that reformatted recruitment to an entirely virtual process. Additionally, I rebranded the entire LSU Panhellenic social media, created a website and many graphics and videos to prepare women for recruitment.

Social Media Rebranding

One of my favorite things that I did in this position was rebranding the entire LSU Panhellenic Social Media. I based our social media off of the recruitment theme which was “Geaux Girl.”

Created and Established a brand for Recruitment 2020

One of my primary jobs in this position was creating a brand for recruitment. With this, I designed two large publications. One of them was the 2020 Girl Talk. I mailed this to over 1,400 new members over the summer of 2020, educating them on what to expect for recruitment.

I designed a shirt that was worn by over 1,400 new members of the LSU Panhellenic Community.

Video Series Before Recruitment 2020

Before recruitment, I wrote, produced, edited and filmed a series of videos to educate potential new members on what to expect when going greek at LSU. For the videos titled, “Preparing for Zoom Recruitment,” and “How to log into Eduroam,” I also narrated them.

Seasonal Stylist

Kendra Scott

During the 2020 and 2021 holiday seasons, I worked full-time as a stylist at Kendra Scott. While at the company, I marketed and sold jewelry to customers at the Magazine Street location in New Orleans. Some of my daily tasks were opening and closing the store, helping customers find the best jewelry pieces, and setting up displays to properly market the Kendra Scott brand. During my time at Kendra Scott, I learned so much working retail during the holiday season. Whether it was dealing with unhappy customers or preparing for a new release of jewelry, I helped the store create a positive and welcoming environment for customers and employees.
