Campaigns

Whether working on public relations campaigns or student government campaigns, I love helping people and portraying a message. When I was in high school, my dream job was to become a campaign manager for a political campaign. When I started college, I quickly realized that public relations would allow me to be a campaign manager for brands and companies. I love building a brand for something that I am passionate about and forming a campaign.

PRSSA BATEMAN TEAM | COX BARRIOS STUDENT GOVERNMENT CAMPAIGN

2021 PRSSA Bateman Competition

The group of six women on my team at one of our first meetings!

In the fall of my senior year, I was chosen as a part of a six-person team for the 2021 PRSSA Bateman Competition. This campaign included researching, planning, executing, and evaluating a given topic.

The campaign engaged with PRSSA to form a movement that will influence our profession and society. The winning entry has the potential to provide a landmark national campaign extending PRSA’s influence by addressing a critical public issue. Our implementation ran from March 8, 2021, until April 8, 2021.

For our campaign, we implemented began a grassroots social movement named The Cooperation Party.

One of the most important educational, political and social issues of today is how to have a civil conversation in society. Our past, present, and future depend on this essential process: citizens gather, listen to each other, debate, make up their minds, and determine a course of action.

Our goal was to help reverse the corrosion of civility in American life and foster more constructive, inclusive public discourse in all corners of society, leading by example through a constant call for more cooperative behavior.

At the end of our campaign, I designed a 55-page report on our findings. You can browse the report by reading more to the left. I also wrote a portion of the report and edited the report.

Campaign Manager for REACH 2020

After several years of being involved in LSU Student Government, my friends, Stone Cox and Hannah Barrios, approached me to manage their campaign for student body president and vice president. I worked alongside Hannah and Stone to create a brand for their campaign and recruit a ticket of candidates and supporters. Together, we developed “REACH” from a concept into a memorable and successful campaign. We wanted to REACH more and new parts of campus than previous administrations.

I served as the campaign manager for the campaign. I focused on creating and maintaining the message and direction of the ticket, overseeing all creative decisions for each component of the campaign, and managing all members of staff in their responsibilities.

Throughout the campaign, I used Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Tik Tok to engage our target audience of LSU students and encourage them to vote. Additionally, we used in-person campaigning, which included taking photos and videos and explaining our mission to potential voters.

We succeeded!

Working on the REACH campaign was easily one of the most challenging projects I’ve worked on to date, but more importantly, it’s been the most fulfilling. We celebrated outstanding success, and for the 2020-21 academic year, I served as the senior advisor to the vice president in their administration. Months before our term ended, I also stepped in as the director of communications, leading all aspects of social media and websites for LSU student government.

Hear why I joined the Cox Barrios team in their pursuit to becoming president and vice president. This video was posted on our Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
